When one doesn't know what to blog, one is supposed to blog a cat. So here ya go, two fab cats.
"Before Theodore Seuss Geisel found fame as a children's book author, the primary outlet for his creative efforts was magazines. His first steady job after he left Oxford was as a cartoonist for Judge, a New York City publication. In 1927 one of these cartoons opened the way to a more profitable career, as well as greater public exposure, as an advertising illustrator."
One funny thing did happen though, today. Otger told me he has a new nickname at school. Albert Newton. Because another boy was already Albert Einstein.
I _luv_ Seuss!
As a kid I used to try and draw jumpy mountains and crazy rocks the way he did.
Cool nickname btw... is it an intellectual school?
Absolutely not. The Canadian school system is as hopeless as any. All the kids from more or less educated parents go (if they can't afford private school) to French immersion schools. Which has got very little to do with French, it is camouflaged social segregation. Otger couldn't go to French immersion, because he didn't even speak English when we moved here, let alone French. So he goes to school with the left over children, the ones that are not in any special program. You can imagine the misery. Although his present school is sort of funny, the vast majority of the kids are Asian.
Oh dear... that changes my view on Canada...
Ah, the NTG filmfest (in which I was accepted, me so proud!) is this year focussing on queer Canada (!) but I don't think they're going to talk about Queer Klezmer... (whatever happened to that?)
;-)
My text was "impenetrable" :-(
And congratulations on your NTG succes!
impenetrable........ they really should have taken the time to grasp it. I still haven't heard of queer klezmer over here.
Darling, you're toooo avant garde for the NRC...
