artschool

St.Joost.jpg

An old friend (picture above, 1978) snail mailed me four pages of pictures. Every single student in our first year. He crossed out the ones that didn't make it through the first year, kind of mean really. I guess I am reveiling my alias now. My maiden name haunts me. If you look at the pages 1 2 3 4 and you are familiar with Dutch art and design, you will recognize some Names. It wasn't such a bad year.

Hello Elian Gerrits

I haven't been around for 11/2 week. I missed the launching of your website. I think it is too clean as it is, just serving it's purpose, but as long as this blog is accompanying/aside it, I do not mind it at all.
Only thing i really find annoying is that your openingsdrawing - your selfportrait - shows some nasty artefacts at the edges. Probably caused by the scalablity of it, combined with the contrast? I do not see it in any other picture.
To see what I mean, look at

What I like to hear from you is, what academy are we talking about?

Geez, thank you Lex. This is new to me. Did it occur when you looked at the
page full screen? It really looks bad. Michiel will figure something out.
Because he's at home today, it's his birthday. Not that we're going to stay
in all day.

Hello

Yes, it's on a tft 19" 1280x1024 screen.
When I push the middle button on the topright of my browserscreen, the button with the two rectangles which means "last format", between the Minimalize and close button, the browser automatically jumps to a size which shows the picture at his optimal size and all the artefacts are gone.
So it definitely has to do with the scalability of the artwork.
I added the new screen on the same page I made.

You did not answer the question about which academy we are talking about?
Give your 3dlover a birthdayhug from me.

The artschool's name is in the document title: St.Joost, of all places.
Michiel will take a look at the scaling problem later.

Welcome Tania. I admit, I have been linkdropping all over, to attract some Torontonian visitors. Yes, probably I meant a red wing blackbird, I saw some on the Toronto islands last summer. They're awesome.
