This was actually a really beautiful big black woman, but very hard to draw. She promised to come back, so I'll get a second chance. I'm still on the slow side. I can't work, my Wacom tablet pen gave up. My sweat got into the holes underneath the button, believe it or not. And it short circuited the pen. That's why we shouldn't work in Summer. Sweating is dangerous. The computer store promised me a new pen by tomorrow.
Posted by eliane at August 7, 2007 10:35 PMMy God! Am I backwired! You draw stuff like this - so beautiful, so typical, the backpain-alleviating ass-covering; the knees - directly on a pad? I looked them up, those Wacom guys. Small pads are only a 'drol'.No expensive software needed, they say. If that's true I'll give it a whirl, girl.
Posted by: ruud ronteltap at August 8, 2007 02:51 PMNo silly, this is plain old fashioned pencil on paper. But it's a 5o X 60 cm sheet so I have to scan those in pieces. Normally I make the piecing together neatly invisible in Photoshop, but without my pen I can't do that. I also couldn't finish my NRC drawing before my well deserved Summer break, that was a pain. But today I managed to do even that. I got my pen working, after I had put it on top of my dehumidifier and with the AC on full force. It is just too damn hot here, equipment breaks down.
Posted by: eliane at August 8, 2007 07:29 PMI hate when my hands use to sweat up too! For hot days, I had to use a fan or turn on the AC. But a few months ago, I bought the SmudgeGuard glove to control the sweat of my hands so that it can easily glide across the surface of my Wacom and it has been great! It really works! You can check it out at www.SmudgeGuard.com. Hope you like my tips!
