fly me to the moon

I think this clip pretty well sums up Otger's week. He's coming home tomorrow, but let's bare with him. Two transfers. Two airline carriers. Which means getting his luggage at Heathrow, changing terminals, and a new check in. On his own. Chicago will be a joke compared to that. And it can't possibly be as hard as taking the train in Holland. But he won't want me to write that up. I bet he learned more in one week than otherwise in a year. He'll have grown. And I hope he enjoyed the Heathrow first class lounge. I told him to get rid of those pounds I found in my ancient foreign money stash. They didn't change English money in the last few decades, did they?

Isn't Otger 13? How did he do it all alone?
Didn't the airlines have to escort him from place to place?
I cannot imagine Youngest. He would never have made it.

oh MY nerves.

He is 14. And no, we didn't ask for an escort. My nephew did that when he came to us a few Summers ago, and he was so embarrassed. Having to sit on a golf cart with all these old people. We figured airports are pretty self explanatory, and we went through everything a thousand times. Anyway, one good thing already, he got all three boarding passes at Schiphol. On the phone they said he wouldn't, because of the different carriers.

it would be fun if Otger would suddenly appeaqr in the Airplane clip you provided-but somehow I don't think he will be asked to fly the plane because the pilot has food poisoning or that he will be bonked on the head with a wrench by a passenger because he is panicking. However, he might be arrested by the Heathrow police for money laundering because of the old pounds you gave him.....

Sorry, ladies, but you have to be over 18 to qualify for our aitline's friendly escort services. Such naïvité, bordering on the criminal, makes me wonder whether, indeed, you've ever seen a grown man bake it!

He's home! Safe and sound! Everything went really well. There was an extra baggage and security check at o'Hare, and he had to take a shuttle to a different terminal, so it was quite complicated, but he managed everything. I have a headache now.

Treinreizen in nederland valt tegenwoordig wel mee hoor.
