iPod
I have wasted an hour surfing radios. Things of beauty, these old tube radios. I had no idea there were so many different ones. And they are still out there, still being repaired, and sold. I wanted to find the exact one that we used to have back in the sixties, but it's hard. This could be the one, I'm not sure. But it's close. (This one looks familiar too.) I was always intrigued by all the cities on the display. As if we would ever be able to hear radio stations from those cities. Prague. Vienna. Didn't happen. I think the radio was more or less fixed on one station, changing it was a big deal. And Piffin's iPod broke down. No audio to the right ear. And LOL! Three weeks from now it will be one year ago that we bought Piffin the video iPod for her eighteenth birthday, so we were still under warranty. Are those things designed to give up as soon as the warranty expires? Anyway, she is now the proud owner of a brand new shining iPod. Gratis. Only downside, it's empty.

Posted by: Eva at April 2, 2008 01:08 AMPiffin must have a backup of all her stuff on the PC... You can't make the iPod copy music to the pc. Communication goes one way: from PC to iPod. Has to do with copyright-things.
iPods are manufactured in very, very large quantities. Remember that it's the number one selling MP3 player in the world. They are not made to last for one year, no way. But it can go broke and that is why there is a one-year warrenty on those things.

And at the store they also said they had seen that same problem more often. But I don't *really* believe they are built to die after a year. And about the back-ups, no, not everything. She uses the iTunes on my machine, and she didn't want to clog me with too much. Maybe it's time for another shift in her musical taste anyway.

Posted by: blackbird at April 2, 2008 06:06 AMyou can back up your itunes library on a CD, uninstall the intunes.. reinstall it, load your CD into it, then hotsync with you new ipod... then your music libray on itunes will load into the new ipod
Posted by: Wendy at April 3, 2008 12:16 AMBij deze 'lelijke'(je moest hem lelijk vinden) kun je mooi in het midden boven de afstemschaal het afstemoog zien. Dat was een groen oplichtende buis (lamp) waarmee je heel precies op de gewenste zender kon afstemmen. Die onder familiar too is heel fraai, ik dacht dat die ook in roorbruine uitvoering was.
