Why is your blog called the Sellotape Files?

I used to be called Ms. Sellotape. When I was young, I used to tape everything together with Sellotape. I had an orange fountain pen that I loved that was so old it was falling apart, but I just kept taping it back together. When my brother finally dumped it in the garbage, I took it back out, stuck some more tape onto it and continued to use it.

Can I link to your site?

By all means. Go right ahead. Please use http://www.duvekot.ca

Can I use images from your site?

Yes, you can, sometimes. There are certain things you cannot do. You cannot use images from my site on your own site and use my bandwith by linking to my images. I think this is bandwidth theft, and if you try doing this, my server will send you another image, not the one you wanted to see. It's OK to use my images if you host them yourself and include the link to my site. Here's how you should do that.

Please note that the images from my Tim book are copyrighted by my publisher, not myself. You cannot use those, even if it's to link to my site.

It is something else if you want to use one of my images in print. If you are going to pay for print work, you might as well pay me too. I will ask you to pay for a second use fee, which is usually half of what I was payed for the first rights.

How do you make your drawings?

I use brain power. I just think of them and then they appear on the screen of my computer. I prefer to do my thinking in a bath. Too bad we don't have a waterproof laptop.

Can I get a signed copy of your book?

Sure, but you can't order the book through me. Buy it in the shop or online, send me a copy with a self addressed and stamped envelope and I'll sign it and send it back to you.

Are there problems with this website?

You bet. We've tested the site with as many browsers as we could and found that it works best with firefox, the next generation browser from mozilla.org. There are problems with Internet Explorer, which is rather a pity, because you can't enjoy the nifty way the site scales if you change the size of your browser window. If you're looking for a browser that is not in beta, and works well with this site (and many others) have a look at opera or mozilla

The problems with Internet Explorer (some 60 % of our visitors still use it) have been resolved. Fixing the problems caused all kinds of new problems in the other browsers of course, but we think we've solved all of those and we're OK now. The problems reported by Lex have been fixed as well. Let us know if you find any errors, or if you think something doesn't work the way it should.
